He's a great player but unfortunately won't be given consideration from many Heisman voters because he doesn't play for USC, ND, or a Top Ten team...AND...he plays in the Southeastern Conference. That's the reason I believe the Heisman is the most ridiculous award in all of sports! This is the time of the year when the media should be discussing the top teams, conference champions, bowl projections, etc. Instead they waste too much time during games and sports shows discussing an award that rarely selects the nation's best player. SEC > Heisman
He will be long gone before the Cowboys get to draft. I don't see them trading down to get him, unless they give awy half their draft picks (ala N.O. with Ricky Williams). It would be awesome if the Saints got him though. I'd hate to see Duece go but 2 rebuilt knees won't last long.
I disagree. I think its between McFadden and Dixon from Oregon. If McFadden runs for 150 vs the best run defense in the nation on the day after Thanksgiving, I say he takes the award home in December.
<--- Thinks McFadden is the real deal. <--- Hopes he wins the Heisman and is a high draft pick (because I'll be glad when we don't have to see him again )
NOOOOO!!!! I'd like to see him with a fleur-de-lis on his helmet, but there is no way that happens. I dont want him anywhere in the NFC, though, especially the south. It would make me sick if he went to Atlanta. Now that I think about it, I would love to see him go to Oakland. They dont have a franchise back, and that would be just the thing J-Russ needs to take the pressure off and launch a stellar career. I dont see the Rams taking a RB, and Miami has Ronnie Brown....hm As someone mentioned earlier, he has incredible vision. Thats why you never see him making shifty moves; he just doesnt have to. He sees the entire field and knows where defenders are going to be before they do. He runs to the spots that he knows will get him into open space. Plus, if there are any defenders near him, he doesnt need to juke them because he has the best stiff arm I have ever seen. He can run full speed and take defenders off their feet with his free hand. Dude is a beast. Better than AP? I dunno, but if he isnt, he is damn close.
On one hand I'd like to see him win it because he's a great player. On the other hand I would hate to see the Heisman gain any credibility by selecting a SEC player. :hihi: How about this Heisman lineup...Dixon, McFadden, Tebow, Woodson, and Dorsey. ...and the winner is...Dixon It's not impossible for McFadden to win it just unlikely because of the horrible bias in the voting. What is impossible is me watching the telecast because it's a total waste of time. Speaking of the Heisman, Mattie Lienart's newest commercial is lame! The guy has a weak personality and just isn't on par with players like Manning and Bush.
D-Mac is the only recent SEC running back who can be mentioned in the same breath as Hershel, Bo, and Emmitt.
At first I thought this thread was going to say Darren Mcfadden: over or under a 100 yrd. vs. LSU. Pretty surprised that any one would call him overrated.
