Source says Texas A&M, Franchione discussing settlement
    ESPN.com news services

    Updated: November 5, 2007, 2:08 PM ET

    .....

Texas A&M is talking about buying out Franchione's contract, sources have told ESPN's Andre Ware.

    .....

Texas A&M is reportedly researching whether Franchione violated his contract with the income he received from the newsletter. If he is found in violation of the contract, the Aggies may not have to pay the coach anything upon firing him.

    .....

Ware reported that Texas A&M wants to talk to Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville for a potential vacancy. He reported that the school is working with Chuck Neinas, who runs a consulting firm specializing in hiring coaches.

Where do you go after TAM gives you the boot. If Nutt gets the boot, Arkansas ? Tuberville to TAM ? Sexton probably just trying to leverage Auburn. Wuddayathink ?

I'm more curious to see how this affects their play this weekend against Missouri. They're 17.5 point underdogs on the road. Will this inspire them to pull the upset or will they become this weekend's Nebraska?

Tubberville and Spurrier would both like to coach at LSU but TT won't get a shot even if Miles decided to leave. There won't be any openings in the SEC (maybe Ole Miss...but they wouldn't make that mistake again) so he may have to move on.

I can only imagine what LSU tales he would tell the east Texas recruits if he went to the Aggies.

Not really, Jimmy Sexton used Nutt to Nebraska as leverage to get him more money couple years back. Probably more of the same here, wouldn't doubt it if its Sexton who initiated the contact. Tuberville says that ain't the case:

Tuberville said agent Jimmy Sexton was not involved in negotiations with Auburn.

"Everything goes through me," he said. "It doesn't go through Jimmy. I'm sure there'll be some discussion over the next few weeks. When we signed a contract a few years ago, it was a commitment on both sides. That's all I can tell you about it."

You still think Tuberville has the pine box from when he was staying at Ole Miss ? That will always haunt him.

Evidently, you didn't notice what I was pointing to. The point was Neinas. Go back to the delusional Bama fans thread last year about Saban and you'll see the same name.

    Neinas is a go-between.

What you've linked doesn't apply here. The article said Sexton not involved with negotiations with Auburn.

Poor aggy. Lots of those aggys that were so hot to get Fran sure would like to have RC back. Of course, lots of Nebraskans wish they had Solich back. And the domers let a decent coach go and get worse in Weis.

I'm not sure going from Auburn to TAMU is an upward move, except maybe moneywise.

I have heard quiet a few shows talking about Tubby going to Texas, which fits since only steers and queers are in Texas he should fit right in.

With the Small 12 seemingly in disarry if he were to bring in the speedy SEC style of play, you might could see the begining of a powerhouse team.

AND because of the love loss between LSU and Tubby we very well could see a renewed rivalry with the Aggies, which means we would still get to beat Tubby and add a pretty decent team to our OC schedule!

Not to mention the tail spin that his leaving would send Auburn into being that Saban would pretty much be the only shark in the water for Bama recruits!

Pretty funny that Fran is still the last coach at bama to manage a win against LSU or Auburn.

Duh, you are right I did. Hmmmmm. Well, we shall see. But trust me, Sexton is slithering around this deal if Tuberville is serious about it.
