Notre Dame at this point is nothing more than the de facto 12th team of the Big 10. Will not even qualify for a bowl game this year.
They are the 3rd best team in Indiana behind Purdue and Indiana. They can't really get all that much lower.

When Nebraska seriously looked at Houston Nutt as a new head coach, I knew the program was in serious trouble.

Alabama is going to challenge, but losing to both LSU and Georgia this year will keep Saban at bay for another year or two.

I keep on telling 'Bama fans that Saban's ability or inability to challenge for the top Metro Atlanta recruits is very critical.

'Bama fans seem to discount this issue, but in my opinion, this will ultimately make or break Saban at Alabama.

You never know how good recruiting classes are going to be until they are on the field. I do know recruiting for Alabama is different from LSU and most schools because of where they are geographically. Right now I don't see any Louisiana recruits on Bama's list. I do see a lot of Alabama recruits. The Alabama tradition is far reaching due to Alabama alumni living all over the country. I don't know Nebraska very well. Notre Dame has always been able to recruit nationwide and it seems Charlie Weis is turning in some good recruiting classes. It will be interesting to see how Bama's year turns out and then how next year goes. I think we already know the score for Nebraska and Notre Dame.

Isn't this Weis' 3rd year? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he lead ND to two straight BCS bowl games in his first two years?
