Not a Canada fan? I think it's too early to be hanging on every move, and I doubt he was caught completely unawares by Kiffin. Hell, he may have been doing him a favor. Not to mention every swinging dick wanted Kiffin.

I'm willing to take a few lumps as long as things don't start unraveling. Give it some time. I heard he's got a solid ST coach locked up today. Dude's far exceeding the comedy of errors that was the late Les Miles (to this point).

The good thing is, he fell in a pile of shit and has come out smelling like a rose. Yes a couple bad moves by O indeed. Doesn't look like any harm was done. It definitely needs to be a case of lesson learned though. O isn't perfect, but he seems willing to change things that aren't working. He also seems to be putting together a damn fine coaching staff. With O, it won't always be pretty, but he, seems to realize that he needs to put quality coaches in place and let them coach. We already know he can recruit. I sure hope the fans give him a minute to get his thing going. He just may surprise a bunch of them.

Canada feels like a good hire but who really knows. I had never heard of the guy prior but that goes for most college ocs. I don't like hiring bad people and kiffin feels like damaged goods. I only wanted him bc Saban clearly didn't want him here. It would have been a 1 year hire either way.

Not sure we've exceeded anything yet Hope O's not just a bad used car salesman. That's my worry the more I see.

Hes 55. He has been coaching forever. He has to know better. But he didn't. That's a big red flag for me.

I'll be cautiously optimistic until theres signs of more dumbassedness. I had 11 years of it. I'd rather not go that route again.

I think sometimes his motor gets running faster than his brain. Hopefully he'll settle in to the job shortly and things will slow down for him. Is there any way we won't be better next year with Aranda and Canada?

I was wondering, what if the kiffen thing was all smoke and mirrors? Follow me here but we know the douche bag wont be back in gumpville next year ( I don't care what that lying POS said, I dont think his ego could take being riped on national tv for another year). So if you follow that logic then the gumps have to go out and get another OC as well. Well we know we will be fighting for any OC's out there so is it possible that this much was made about kiffin to divert the attention away from any other legitimate OC's that we were looking at? I admit it is a slim hypothesis but it seems like after kiffin decided to go to FAU then we moved pretty quick. Or was it shit or get off the pot at that point. Personally I think this is a better hire than kiffin, stability wise and less crap that would come along with kiffin. Just my 2 cents

Losing a lot on D, particularly at LB. Aranda will have his hands full.

The media is what really tints the whole kiffin thing to a negative, I will not lay that on Coach O. You can't keep this sort of stuff under the table. Shit ESPN sends people to airports to get flight planes and then watches who gets on planes to see what is what. Plus the million people that can tweet, text, email sighting of said coaches going in and out of offices at facilities. Its all a media circus.

Sure I think Kiffin was the top OC out there to hire, don't like him, but I don't really know the guy either. All my information is second and third hand on the guy. Glad we ended up with Canada tbh as Lane was gone after 1 year. But as I see it he was top OC, plus the added bonus of pissing off Saban. Plus he was Coach O's friend. I have friends like Lane, I wouldn't trust them around my daughter. But they are still my friends. So I don't hold that against Coach O either.
