LSU fans plant memory to bloom in Alabama
    By Dwight Perry

    The Seattle Times

    What, no candy?

Louisiana State football fans, still stung by ex-Tigers coach Nick Saban taking the job at rival Alabama, left a delayed going-away gift after Saturday night's 41-34 victory. Along the nearby interstate on their way out of Tuscaloosa, some sprinkled flower seeds in the Tigers' purple and gold colors. LSU alum Pike Barkerding, the brains behind "Botanical Bombs over Bama," says he had 700 members signed up as of late last week.

"Sending someone flowers is considered one of the best ways to establish closure after a bad breakup," Barkerding told LSU's Daily Reveille newspaper. "Suggesting that — should this work — LSU fans just might be able to get over Saban's departure and move on with their lives."

The choice of seeds was certainly a no-brainer: Forget-Me-Nots
