cmon clair, you know you're playing for the regular season crown because when postseason begins the rockets have zero shot. getting out of the first round will be a coup. other than that, there's not much to hope for.
why do the Rockets have no shot? because they don't have a center? You might be right, but I guarantee there isn't a single team in the NBA that will want to play them. Have you watched them play? They hustle like maniacs. They will give anyone fits. We're actually real similar to the Jazz, to be honest. 19 assists and 1 turnover in the past 3 quarters. That's good basketball. Period.
I watched some of the game tonight and I noticed the same thing. Utah and the Rockets are playing similar ball right now. Everyone is contributing, the bench puts up solid numbers. Jazz are slightly bigger. Houston runs a little more faced pace and the Jazz go the no turnover route in transition and pull it out to run their half court offense more consistently, which is what they do because they are good at it and it sets the pace of the game. Also throws the other teams off balance. However, Houston is very good with their faced paced offense and still make great plays to get their players open early in the offensive set. This is just based of watching a few games here and there lately. Clair, Bobby Jackson does bring a spark to the team however the announcers kept talking about his % falling significantly since the trade. Was it more off the wall comments? What is your take?
Okay. Now it's official. 17 in a row. 5-0 without Yao. 5 straight Blowouts. 110+ points in 3 of the 5 games without Yao. So the Rockets can now score and defend... Scary. It may well come to an end on Sat against the Hornets, though. We'll see. If not, they have 3-4 garbage games and this thing can string out real long.
Well it's just such a limited sample. He had like an 0 for 8 game. That skews stuff at the beginning. He has played well in every other game. His +- has been easily in the + in every game.
no, your analysis was very, very well done. I couldn't have said it better. if they play in rd 1 again this year, it will be even more fierce than last year. Although if Houston keeps playing this well (8-straight double-digit wins), they will catch the Hornets and be the 3-seed.
This will extend to 21 games. Then check out this schedule: Sun 16... vs LA Lakers 6:00pm KTXH NBATVHIGHDEF Tue 18... vs Boston 8:30pm FSNHOU Wed 19.. @ New Orleans 7:00pm FSNHOU Fri 21..... @ Golden State 9:30pm FSNHOU Sat 22.... @ Phoenix 9:00pm KTXH We'll have a much better perspective of how they will compete in the playoffs after that brutal 5 game stretch.
With the loss, the Mavs and Suns are now both below .500 since their trades. The Mavs are only inside the playoff race by 2 games now. And I have to tell you, from having seen Denver just a few nights ago, Denver is better than they are.
I get to go to a lot of their games and they do look much better sans Yao. The arena is much more lively these days. However, I just don't see them making it through the playoffs to the finals. Sorry clair, I know you love 'em man, and I hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see it.
