Best guess BCS Standings: ..........................Coaches.........Harris.......Computers 1. Ohio State..... 1499 .9999....2850 1.0000.... .9700....... .9900 2. LSU.............. 1415 .9433....2675.. .9386.... .9400...... .9406 3. Oregon......... 1375 .9167....2580... .9053.... .9300...... .9173 4. Kansas 5. Oklahoma 6. WVU 7. Missouri 8. Georgia 9. Boston College 10. Virginia Tech A .0489 lead over Oregon has been reduced to .0233 (cut in half, basically). Bottom line, LSU wins out, LSU plays for the National Championship. Oregon has Arizona, UCLA and Oregon State left. Nothing special to help their cause. The bigger issue may be an undefeated Kansas team beating a very high ranked OU team in the BIG 12 CG. How compelling a case will Kansas make to jump LSU in the human polls in the end? Kansas still has Oklahoma State on the road and Missouri at home. Kansas would jump LSU in all the computer polls in the end if OU and Missouri win out (except for their loss to Kansas, of course). This is why it may be imperative for us to play a top 6/7 Georgia team in the SEC CG (vs a #14 Tennessee,e.g.). Don't forget, Ohio State has that little matter of having to win in the Big House (Michigan).
A couple things that help our cause. ASU plays USC so one of those teams will fall in the rankings. Also, Michigan plays Ohio State. If Ohio State wins, it hurts Oregon considering Michigan in a quality win for Oregon. If Michigan wins, the we play Oregon. Either way it is a win-win for the Tigers.
Don't you think a 2nd loss by ASU drops them like a lead balloon to like around 18 or lower? No team, and I mean no team has beaten as many top ranked teams as LSU has. And we get to play one more in the SECCG. :thumb:
Yes I agree ASU is the type team voters would quickly jump off their bandwagon should they lose again.
Don't sleep on the Zookster and the Illini next week. OSU hasn't faced a QB like Juice Williams this year. Not saying OSU will lose one or both of their last two games, but you gotta like the fact that their next 2 opponents are the toughest 2 they will face all year.
I am stunned I got the BCS polls that close. Actual: OSU = .9949 LSU = .9411 Oregon = .9180 And Kansas did indeed sneak right past OU. They pose a threat now.
KU still has Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Mizzou in the Border War, and likely OU in the Big 12 Championship...no way they go undefeated
