Good points Red. However, I think the emotional drain of the LSU game will leave Bama down and doubting. Nick's a good coach, but even he has limits. I think State is very hungry and playing much better than they did in September. It's in Starkville so I think it will be a close game, but I just don/t know if Bama will get it done on the road. After that, I think Auburn beats them again regardless of the outcome of the State game. It should be an interesting bowl season. Probably every team in the SEC West except Ole Miss goes bowling. ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule:
For whatever reason State hasn't played very well at home under Croom, all of his big wins have come on the road, go figure.
We stayed with some MSU fans this weekend, and although none of us had any idea of the standings, MSU could still finish #2 in the West. I think MSU has 3 losses, Auburn and Alabama have 2. If MSU wins out, Bama will have at least 3. If Auburn loses and have 3, MSU would beat them both in a 3 way tie. Is that correct? Could be good motivation. Long shot at the...capital one bowl? with a good shot at peach? Someone please correct me so I can call him and ruin his dreams of a decent bowl.
I hate to see either of these teams lose. Coach Croom is a great coach and an even better person, and he deserves a bowl game.
Are you posting as the MSU fan or the Alabama fan here? I'll always have respect for Croom as a player and his time as an asst. coach here...but, what he's pulled off the field the last few years has left me with very little respect for the man today.
He also kicked off half the team when he first got there. The talent level was bad enough, but the off the field antics were just as bad. Screw around, and you don't play.
