A 3 page thread about the fact that an athlete has ink? Are you kidding me?
Well once you guys are finished then can we discuss the whole jewelry situation? It's my personal stance that any male that wears an earring is into scientology and should be executed before a firing squad.

    Get real people.

    p.s. Shaq...

You're the one with the blinders on and on a high horse. You can't tolerate anyone who makes your points look foolish and knee-jerk--you don't explain why you called me out on Ryan Perrilloux being black, so don't act like I haven't explained myself.

Any LSU player who regularly gets in trouble with the law is not, in my opinion, a "scholar athlete" but, instead, a person who is not spending his time on what he should be spending his time on. Your definition of scholar-athlete is someone who plays football and goes to class. My definition requires that the person show some leadership or at least a respect for the law. Ryan Perrilloux has been connected to some serious things, like counterfeiting, and you cannot just dismiss this by saying "give him a break."

Take Ryan Perrilloux's part all you want but I'll bet you will have to backpedal as he continues to act as he has. I hope he's learned a lesson but I doubt that a one-game suspension is going to change a thing.

I apologize for pulling the race card - I shouldn't have. But you didn't initially qualify why you didn't consider Ryan Perrilloux a student-athlete. I took that to mean you take a look at the kid and the fact that he has tattoos and has gotten in trouble and that means he's not a student-athlete. He goes to class, does well (apparently), and seems to work hard at practice and in games. He's gotten in some trouble, although some still seem to overlook the fact that he was CLEARED of any wrongdoing two weeks ago, but I'm not going to continue to beat that dead horse as that is not the intended purpose of this thread. I will continue to support the kid through his PAST transgressions against all of those on this board who continue to want to throw him under the bus. But he's on a short leash from here on out in my book.

But back to my main point, tattoos don't make the person. I don't personally like them and I find them to be trashy when visible, but that's my opinion on the matter. I don't think it automatically makes them a bad person.

I assume y'all are talking about Laurinaitis. His dad and his uncle were pro wrestlers so tattoos are nothing for them. Personally, as long as my girlfriend doesn't have them, i couldn't care less about them.

 I can't think of any other explanation though.
Exactly. This is among the dumbest threads I can recall.

Perhaps the WWII generation is only OK with tattoos on veterans. Later generations seem to embrace them. I don't have any tattoos, but that's solely because I can't think of anything I want permanently drawn on me. Nevertheless, I'm a huge fan of high-quality tattoos. They can look great for years and tell an interesting story.
