He left Michigan State because LSU was a step up, he left LSU because he always wanted to try his hand at the pros, he left Miami cause he realized his heart is in college....he is now back on college at a big time program getting paid more than any other coach. He's not going anywhere.
I am glad the Dinardo is starting to get some credit for starting this great run we are in. He started getting the talent here at LSU, Saban did a great job and he got us to the elite level. Miles has kept us at that elite level and it seems that we are now one of the top 5 programs in the nation, along with Ohio St, USC, Oklahoma and Florida. I am gratefull to all 3 coaches and I have enjoyed the past few years a WHOLE lot. Saban brought us a MNC in my lifetime, something that I never thought I would see. Miles has us on the brink of another MNC and we are a player every year in the NC race. Feels great. :geauxtige :crystal: :milesmic:
good point on dinardo. i hate people that group dinardo with hallman. dinardo deserves some credit. kinda makes me think that those who dog him jumped on the bandwagon when saban got here. not saying dinardo didn't have his faults at the end of his tenure (and i htought he should've been fired) but he showed that you can recruit and win in la. and that's what drew saban here and made LSU what it is today.
He left Michigan State because LSU <paid more money>, he left LSU because he <wanted more money> in the pros, he left Miami cause he realized he <wanted more money>....he is now back on college at a big time program getting paid more than any other coach. Saban is a short-sided control freak. He jumped at the Miami job b/c he wanted to be fawned over at the professional level. After sealing his fate with the Culpepper over Brees choice he realized he was doomed to be Belechick's whipping boy for the next five years. Count on him to resurface in the Pros in a few years if the right opportunity develops.
Money comes with the territory when you move up the coaching ladder. I seriously doubt that money was his only motivation for leaving Michigan State. Let's face it, he wasn't winning a national title at Michigan State. I feel quite confident in saying that Saban won't return to the pros.
I don't understand why anybody would question Satan's coaching ability. Talent-wise, that Alabama team wasn't good enough to play for our third string. But, through good coaching, Alabama made a game out of it. If you take a look at where Alabama was last year and where they are now, Satan has done a really fine job down there.
He left Miami because he couldn't turn the program around and he new it. His heart was not in college football as much as you think. He just could not stand getting his ass kicked every weekend.
OK it's not like Alabama is some DII school. They haven't been lighting the world on fire with recruiting, but Shula did a decent job and they have good talent. DJ Hall is among the best in the SEC and they have a lot of talent on defense also. I'm not saying they're as good as LSU talent-wise, but the difference in talent isn't THAT much
I don't mean this in an ugly way, but how on earth can you possibly know that unless you're in his head?
