I grew up respecting Bear Bryant because my dad, a football coach, absolutely idolized him. I remember the day he died as being a very sad one in our household. That's to say nothing against LSU during that time because my dad knew Charlie Mac very well and always thought highly of him, too. But Bear Bryant was special--a true legend.
