He beat Bama and the Barn in the same season. Beat Troy and UAB, and LSU is Alabama state champs. What is idiotic about that?

The first thing I hear from AMAB & AU fans is how big an idiot Miles is. My point is that they done care that he wins, just that he's an idiot. There is way more bashing of Miles in Montgomery than Saban or Tuberville in Baton Rouge.

Some answers to this lay in the fact that up to the Bama game, we had played one "hell" of a brutal schedule. I'd like to see Bama play that same schedule in the same order and see how well they'd do! I'll say this, if the Tigers win out and go to the NCG meeting Ohio St. After a couple of weeks of rest in between, Ohio St is in for an "azzzzzzzzz" whipping of monumental proportions. Will do my heart good to see the Tigers lay it on them. Bet OS will never wanna face "another" SEC school after this!!!

I hope you guys bring another MNC to the SEC this year. You've easily got the most talent in the conference, and OSU will take another SEC beatdown if they make it to the title game against LSU.

I'm a bama fan and have also been a long time LSU fan, but I have to ask some questions about all of this Saban hating.

How many losing seasons in a row did you guys have before Saban became your coach? Exactly how does that equate to LSU making Saban who he is?

How many losing seasons in a row did Miami have before Saban led them to 9-7 in his first year there? Also what is their record so far this year without him? If he's such a mediocre coach and the spawn of the devil, why do Miami and a lot of LSU fans hate him so much? Why did they not celebrate him leaving Miami since he was such a terrible coach and person? Saban was under contract to Oklahoma state (i think) when LSU lured him to BR. That is somehow okay yet Alabama fans should be ashamed of themselves for "Stealing" the Miami coach; because he wanted to get back into college football.

He pulled in the number 10 class last year with two months recruiting and has already got a top-5 class lined up for this year. As for Auburn, they haven't got a good start on a top 50 class this year thanks to Saban and his staff pretty much signing anyone in this state that they really want, (with a few exceptions, but that even happens to y'all)

You're right about LSU not having to compete with anyone for Louisiana talent, and you have a right to be proud of your team, and that's what befuddles me. There's really no reason to belittle Coach Saban's accomplishments to make LSU look good. Believe me, folks in Alabama know how to play football too. Also it took near death penalty sanctions in order for AU to win 5 games in a row agains UA (four of them by 7 pts or less), while LSU pretty much handed us our heads every year.

I somehow believe that this is the feeling of a vocal minority. I am friends with several LSU fans, and we enjoy some good-natured ribbing every year at gametime. All of them Love coach Saban and appreciate what he did for their school. They also have told me that I could expect good things at the Capstone with him as their coach; because he demands the best out of all his players; and he demands discipline on and off the field. That discipline has shown up in the fourth quarter wins UA has this year with only one summer of his 4th quarter program, and it will only get better in the years to come.

Yea, especially against Saban's defense if the final score is MSU by one td!
He's pretty good about winning and losing games with hail marys.
I think he has a record of 1-2 in the final seconds of a game.
Someone help me out here, please?

Anyway I would like to throw in my 2 cents now that I've read this whole thread.
I think the Bama poster was pretty much right on the money.
I also think the poster who said LSU made Nick instead of the other way around was more right than wrong.
First of all Nick has always had assistant coaches and like others have said there was some pretty good players in Baton Rouge when NS got here.
We had just beaten his Michigan State team 42-14 a few years earlier btw.
I do believe Saban and all his success, ego, is somewhat over hyped.
I think I have heard from people of both extremes about the 2 coaches in this thread.

The part that kills me is that CLM's has a better record with Saban's recruits than he did not to mention how ironic it was that CLM's recruit made the play of the game to seal the deal last Saturday nite.
I do like the saying, fear the hat!:miles:
CNS, as good a coach and recruiter as he is, 0-2 versus LSU!:thumb:

I wonder how many schools who "might be" interested in Miles are saying, "We THINK he can coach but we have to remember that he is playing Saban's players.":milesmic:

    1. And that was mainly because their main offenseive weapon quit during Training Camp.

Something Bama fans fail to realize here. Saban inherited a team already loaded with NFL talent. A team only 2 years removed from a 9 win season that had followed a 10 win season. And most people also donn't realize that Nick Saban and Gerry Dinardo have the EXACT same number of seasons with fewer than 3 losses while at LSU. He was not a GOD here. He was not a "magic man" he did not work miracles. DiNardo lost control of his team, but don't kid yourself, the team was already in place to be successful.

Say what you want, but Saban was a good fit for LSU. LSU had just as big a part to do with making him as he did making them.
