The following was sent to me by my wife's cousin who is a HUGE Bama fan (edited for clarity). I found his perspective interesting, and I hope you do too.

    1) Four Hours and 22 minutes - That is the last college football game I will ever watch, Reviews, Advertizing, etc, it's ridiculous. This makes me want to go watch an NFL game.
    2) If I had two weeks to prepare LSU for this game, the final score would have been LSU 47, BAMA 6. The game was nowhere close to the score. I watched the Va. Tech game, and just didn't realize how big, strong, and fast LSU was.
    3) LSU could have run the ball (and did) at will. Maybe 6-8 pass attempts (max) is all they needed to keep the Bama defense honest.
    4) LSU may have been within one play of losing this game. There is no way anyone should be able to play with LSU for 60 minutes.
    5) Discipline = zero. Even with a couple of bad calls, it was obvious there is way too much "individualizem" on this team. As deep as LSU's bench is, Les could sit some of those monsters and still beat the hell out of anyone.
    6) Bama was Mike Shula's team (not Nick's). If Nick stick's around for a couple of years, look out.
    7) LSU should run the table, and play either Oregon or Oklahoma. If Les
cuts the crap and starts playing "smash mouth" football, LSU could get it done. They must have 5 first-rounders on that team.

I keep hearing we "should look out" when Saban's recruits get on the field. Did he recruit an "offense" too? The game is more wide open, spread out and vertical than it was even four years ago when LSU won the N.C. Unless, Bama has a JaMarcus hiding on the bench they'll have to be happy with these moral victories for years to come.

Great observations by your wife's cousin's gardener (j/k).

I agree with everything on that list, including Saban and what he will be able to do at Bama.

LSU is by far the most talented team in college football. If LSU played Ohio State and they both played their A game, the score would be the same as last year's NC game.

After getting through this 4 game hellish stretch alive, if LSU doesn't at least make it to the NC, this will be regarded as a dissappointing season by most LSU fans. I may be a little conservative with that statement, as maybe most are saying we MUST win it all at this point.

Saban is a good coach and a very good recruiter. He will improve the talent level at Bama in the years to come. However, he has his faults as a coach, too, which I think his record at LSU indicates as good as any. Bama can indeed look forward to being in contention for SEC titles so long as Saban is coach there, but they have to realize that he sometimes found ways to lose even with the talent he had at LSU. I hope they don't mind a lot of three loss seasons.

Saban was a average coach before LSU MADE HIM! I am sick of hearing how great he is, but look at what he did after he left LSU. Miami went down hill and really he will not be able to recruit the way he did at LSU! He has to deal with Auburn and the teams around Alabama for talent. Louisiana produces more D-1 and NFL players than Alabama with basically the population and LSU does not have to deal with Auburn.

LSU MADE NICK SABAN and the in-state talent! Remember Arkansas in 2004 and the Capital One Bowl against Iowa? The defensive "GENIUS", Nick Saban's defense and secondary BLEW those games at the end.

    What?

LSU was horrible in the 90s before Saban got there.

Because of Lou Tepper. There was NFL talent on the team before Saban arrived. Gerry Dinardo actually had some fair recruiting classes. It isnt hard to get Louisiana kids to LSU.

While OU812's comments are quite exaggerated, what he's getting at is the fact that LSU was already loaded when Saban got here. The number of players that ended up on NFL rosters that were in place when Saban arrived is staggering. DiNardo was a great recruiter, just a bad coach/disciplinarian. People always act like the cupboard was bare when Nick took over. But nothing could be further from the truth.

LSU is sick of hearing how great a coach Saban is from Bama fans. Bama fans are sick of watching Coach Miles beat them and most everyone else. What's funny is how much energy Bama fans put into hating on CLM. They talk about our feelings toward Saban and they constantly trash our coach. If Saban does not win the West in the next 3 years I predict a HUGE Bama meltdown. Why? Bama is so sure the same success LSU is having right now in Coach Miles 3rd year. It's also funny to see how Bama keeps talking about Saban recruits winning at LSU but will ignore any of Coach Miles recruits. That is why it was so sweet to see Chad Jones cause the fumble that led to the win. Of course they don't mention it was a Miles recruit. We have a great team and program coached by a great Coaching staff. College recruits want to play for a winning program, be on TV and play in the SEC. Throw in Tiger Stadium on a Saturday night and BOOM, you have an elite program! :thumb: :crystal::helmet:
