We may very well have a significantly better offense next year, if RP can stay clean and keep his head on straight. If the DL and corners come along, the even year may not be so shabby.

Now, Florida, however, is going to be scary good, I think. And Bama looks like a team on the rise. Standard SEC - no rest.

C'est la vie, say the old folks. It goes to show you never can tell....

How can they claim that most of these players are here bc of Saban and we only have 30 players here that were signed by Saban? The MAJORITY of players on this team were recruited by Miles and ALL of them have been coached by Miles and his staff the last 3 years.

If anything Alabama fans look at the talent that he brought to LSU and that makes the future look really bright. If anything we believe that Saban is at least as good of a coach is Miles is. So if he can get top talent to LSU and Miles is able to have them compete year in and year out we figure Saban will be able to do it here. Make sense? Also is it possible and this is completely hypothetical but would the players that are at LSU now be there if Saban and LSU hadn't won 2 SECCG and a BCSCG?

You know, you take such pride in LSU football players that you should buy a purple shirt, become a contributor on the board, and learn the words to Hey Fighting Tigers.

Have you noticed that none of us care that players still come to Bama based on Bryant's record. Or that Nick is being successful with players that Shula won 10 with a couple of years ago. Why are Bamans so obsessed with who Nick recruited at LSU five years ago? Have you no pride in your own recruits?

Right now you folks are trying to explain away Les' winning record for being better than Nick's. You know in a few years you guys are also going to be comparing Nick's record at Bama with Nick's record at LSU. That should be interesting . . .

LSU is 30-5 without Nick. Nick is 21-20 without LSU.

I never made that claim. All Bama fans want is to be competitive. We want to be in the race for the SEC West in November, we wouldn't mind going the SEC Championship game ever couple of years. And maybe winning it once in a while. We think because Saban was able to do it at LSU he's got a pretty good shot at doing it at Alabama. Is that flawed logic? Also LSU won't always have the top talent in the South and at the least we should be able to get one or two recruits out of LA.

The overwhelming majority of those players are from Louisiana. As long as LSU is winning, they will come, and some of them even if LSU is losing. I think the championships have little to do with it. They are bigger influences on out of state kids, I would think.

When Saban's tenure at LSU began, he started winning immediately, and there was lots of talk of him "waking the sleeping giant". There was NFL talent on that 3-8 team of 1999. There wasnt near the talent then that there is now, because SOME of the in state talent went else where, and NO out of state talent was coming to Baton Rouge. Miles has shown that he is continuing the trend. He is keeping in state talent in state, and cherry picking surrounding states for talent, as well.

Hell, a lot of people think that Gerry Dinardo could have been moderately successful if it wasnt for the Lou Tepper fiasco. I think that is the point a lot of us are trying to make. Simply put, LSU is an easy job.

It wasn't an attack, it was a retort. You know good and well you are on a rival board and you were treading on a subject that is not only SENSITIVE, but we're really SICK and TIRED of it. You can't have a thin skin if you are going to make provocative posts. People will respond.

So, LET IT GO and talk some football, alex.
