    COPY AND PASTE

'09 will look a whole lot like the '03 and '07 seasons. Those even years are killer.

Uhhh, . . . it was LSU's Nick Saban that recruited those players, Jess. It is kind of sad that with all the success Nick has had recruiting and coaching at Alabama this year, that some Bama fans are still trying to take pride in Nick's accomlishments at LSU! What has happened to that old Bama swagger?

Nick's recruits are about 25% of the current LSU team. Those recruits, mostly from Louisiana, came to play for LSU under Nick and stayed to play for LSU under Les, along with a ton of Miles own recruits, who made 66% of the 475 rushing and receiving yards last night.

LSU is 30-5 without Nick. Nick is 21-20 without LSU.

Nah, he's right, offshore. I know exactly what he means- like SabanFan said a long time ago, Miles is winning more with Saban's recruits than Saban did.

Yes...we'll probably fall apart after we lose these great players...like we did this year after we lost all of LAST year's great players.:hihi:

Seriously, I don't have a problem with Bama fans saying Saban is the better coach between himself and Miles. They SHOULD think their coach is better, and he might actually BE better. But to think that the SEC is gonna cower down to Alabama now that Saban is there is ridiculous. I know you aren't saying that, Alex...but the comments from some Bama fans seem to indicate this feeling. Bama definitely dominated when CPB was there...no doubt. But that was a long time ago, and things are a LOT different now...not just in the SEC...but in the NCAA period. The rules are different now, making it difficult for ANYONE to dominate for an extended period.

LSU will lose players EVERY year, as will EVERY team. They will simply reload. Losing Early Doucet? Enter Demetrius Byrd AND Terrance Tolliver. I know they aren't as productive and dependable as he is NOW, but that's what experience does. Last year, Doucet was the #3 receiver...for LSU.
Losing Steltz? Enter Chad Jones. I don't think I need to hype him up any after yesterday.

Bottom line, LSU is here now, and will be here for a long time...Saban or not.

If you watch saban's post game interview, it sounds like he's saying HIS team was not well coached. They were confused, didn't cover Doucet on his TD, faked blitz then didn't cover Doucet well...

You'll have to select the pic on LSU Bama game to get to it, probably won't be there after a day or two:

saban looks whipped. I don't ever remember him stuttering so much, he makes Les appear eloquent.

Here's another link to the interview:

quick run down of losses from this team. good to bad.

OL-loses one, and the weakest link at that.

safeties-loses one. two backups have had tons of pt and may be better

rb-lose hester. big loss, but 4 with tons of talent and experience remain.

wr-lose doucet. lafell, byrd and tolliver will be productive.

qb-perriloux has more experience than flynn did last year. may be upgrade.

lb-lose two. highsmith may be tough to replace

dl-lose three. will see dropoff, but doesnt mean they wont be great. tyson jackson plus two former starters (alexander-injury and francois-grades) return leaving three coming back. plus woods, alem and nevis have had tons of pt this year. total of 6 experienced DL back

cb-tough. lose two. expect an overall dropoff in D because of this.

Miles may have a better win lose record, but his trophy case looks pretty bare as of right now. Just stating the obvious.

Don't scratch your head...USE it. I didn't say LSU would EVER dominate. I said they are here now, and will be for a long time. UF is here, AU is here, and Bama's trying to GET here. "Here" is competing for conference and national championships year in and year out. Bama's not "here". When Bama gets "here", THEN crown your coach.:thumb:

Miles doesn't have a trophy case...LSU does...and it contains :crystal: . Ya' know who won it? did.

You make our point. All that seems to matter to Bama is trophies. LSU is happy as hell with what is looking like three straight 11-win seasons, three straight top-5 rankings, two SECCG appearances and never out of contention for the national championship race. :miles: Nick only had one season in his entire coaching career with 11 wins, which was also the only SEC season he ever finished with less than 3 losses.

If Nick matched Les' numbers (which he already hasn't) and doesn't win a championship he will be seen as a failure at Alabama. Dynasties like Bama in the 60's and 70's just don't happen in the days of scholarship parity, when State or Vandy is liable to whip anybody's ass. Even Spurrier only won one NC and Florida owned the 90's.

Just how likely is Nick to repeat his trophy success at LSU? And if he does, will just one ever be enough in Tuscaloosa?

If Les keeps winning . . . the trophies will come. Just stating the obvious.
