Mal Moore met with NCAA officials yesterday in Indy and could not come to a resolution on these kids. They are now likely to be sitting out another weekend of football. Of course 2 of these players are experienced Junior guards Caldwell and Davis. Looks like our D-line will have a field day this Saturday. Or so it seems. Reported on ESPN First Take by Mike Schleighbaugh (sp?).
Schlabach is the guys name. But also guys... this is a different offensive line that you all have seen in the past. These guys are more seasoned and the depth is better. The loss of Caldwell hurts pretty bad, but the o-line held together enough to stop an SEC-caliber d-line in Tennessee. Also, they've had two weeks to stratagize how to cover the losses on the offensive line. They'll be fine. I don't think LSU's d-line will "have a field day" like in years past (2005).
While these guys have been practicing, they haven't been practicing with the 1st unit. It might be worthy to note their replacements have started games as well. It didn't make much of a difference vs UT. It hurts without Caldwell...he's a future Sunday player.
Wow, a bama fan who believes this year is 'different'. Haven't heard that but a thousand times in the last decade.
Let's look at this again realistically. In 2005, (remember when LSU won in OT?) Alabama's o-line was awful and during the AU game they ended up letting everyone short of Tubbs sack Croyle (13 times). You would be delusional to think that this offensive line is anything as bad as 2005's. Just think about it. Let me apply the use of 'different' another way. LSU's defensive line is different from where they have been. This is not the same defensive line that played VT. The only lines I am supremely concerned about are the offensive line of LSU versus the defensive line of Alabama. Scary stuff.
