But even then, extra time is subjective. They'll say 3 minutes, and you watch the clock and it hits 3 minutes, but the team that's down a goal seems to be setting up for one last attempt. The ref never blows the game dead while that set piece is underway. The play always gets resolved, either with a shot or a defender clearing the ball; then the ref ends it.
