Evaluation

This kid is a special athlete that in time when he gets polished up as a wide receiver could become a game breaker with the ball in his hands at the next level. Has good size and lean bulk. DeBose is a wonderful combination of speed, quickness and acceleration. He reaches top gear in a hurry. Plays QB, slot, wide receiver and has huge upside as a field-position changer as a return man. Gets open quickly. Is quick in and out of cuts. Shows good, consistent hands. Is a reliable target with good leaping ability and athleticism. Has a great attitude, and is not shy about going over the middle. Catches the ball on the run, and has an explosive first step upfield. Can snatch away from his body and does a nice job of getting upfield immediately after the catch. His open field run skills are tremendous and his speed and ability to separate once in the open field is exceptional. DeBose is outstanding on quick hitches, bubble screens and reverses, where he can catch the ball and make yards after the catch. Because of his speed, he is very dangerous in space, but a lot of his production comes on short passes rather than vertical routes. He has excellent change-of-direction skills, can cut on a dime, and has burst and acceleration to separate from man-to-man coverage. His vision as a runner and ability to cut and reach top speed without gearing down after making a move is impressive and smooth. Right now, DeBose is very raw and will have to learn the nuances of the WR position. He is not settled in fulltime out wide and uses his instincts, skills, ball skills and speed to beat you. Overall, DeBose is one of this classes elite WR prospects in what we believe may not be a great year at the position. He should end up being pretty special.

This guy is the real thing. He's as good as Shep with his cuts. This is a very special talent and I hope he will be our 1st WR commitment this year.:thumb:

Distance is not a factor according to Debose.

Uh, LSU has a legit chance.

B/c of their speed we might not be able to see it untill they celebrate in the endzone.

Would be very nice if we could swap Bell for Marlon Brown. Really Hope we can pull Andre from Florida.
