Miles has said that the DC would have NFL experience but not come directly from the NFL. He also said on Wednesday at the Bash that the DC would be announced in 5 days, which makes it Monday. Less than 24 hours after the Superbowl and NFL season ends. When asked specifically if it was Dave Campo, Miles said, "I wouldn't think so." The Houston Cronicle last week reported that Dave Campo would be LSU's next defensive coordinator. Since Campo coached in the NFL last season, but lost his job when Davis was fired. That could be construed as not coming directly from the NFL.
Will Bo Pellini leave OU as their co-defensive coordinator for more money to become LSU's defensive coordinator/linebackers coach? He does fit the mold that Miles described as someone with NFL experience but not coming directly from the NFL. If that is the case, what is the wait to announce him? Waiting till they get a DL coach?
Too much misinformation for anyone on the 'outside' to make an accurate assessment of the situation. But max, you are correct...everyone is assuming that Miles stating the hire will be announced on Monday after the SB means the DC is somehow tied to the NFL/SB team. It could just as easily be that the DL coach is tied to a SB/NFL team and he is just waiting to announce the entire staff at the same time (ie the DC is hired already...which, btw, has already been reported many times).
max, can users edit a poll's choices? If so, you need to add Bo Pellini..he is a name that has surfaced recently (I suspect that makes up the 3 'other' votes so far). The OSU coDC is named Mark Snyder, the Saints DB coach is Greg Brown, and the Georgia DL coach (Garner) is out, he signed a new contract.
Wouldn't Kirk Doll be out because he is with the Denver Broncos? But, since he has LSU experience that would be an interesting pick.
