I must've really lost touch with the "current" metal bands scene. I like Disturbed, Killswitch and Lacuna Coil. I've heard of Lamb of God but never they other guys. As far as current bands, I really like Slipknot. My love however is the 90s metal. Korn (early stuff), Pantera, Testament, and of course the local underground favorites from down south Acid Bath.

I've lost touch too. The last time I saw this type of music was when one of my younger brothers dragged me to see these three bands in New Orleans:

    Meat Puppets
    But Hole Surfers
    Nig Heist

I'm just beginning to get my hearing back as determined by the fewer number of times/day I have to say Huh?

Back in my college days Acid Bath would perform in Lafayette every month at a club in downtown called "Metropolis" (think its the Renassance club now). I was 5'4" 120lbs and would mosh all night and stage dive like it was nothing. I'd feel it the next morning every time, but I have a hard time finding anything that gave me the adrenaline rush that I would get back then. I bought my wife (girlfriend at the time) to a show once, about 1 minute into the first song she was literally crying to go home because she was scared.

Man I miss those days. Too old for that stuff now. Got kids to think about.

Yea but I'm 54 yrs. old now. I was afraid I was going to sucker punch the first person that slammed me. So I kind of stayed in the back against the wall to keep me out of trouble. I can't remember how old I was back then, probably Mid 30's. I remember the energy though. It was incredible. I also remember the name of one of the songs... "But F#$% your partner".

    I've since repented .
