Hmmm.... I really don't have any sort of set expectations for LSU basketball to be honest. I suppose I would like to see them do well enough each year to get a #1 or #2 seed in the SEC tourney. Anything beyond that is gravy.
I don't think expectations are too high... They said we were Top Ten if Bass came back... I don't think he makes 20 something spots of a difference... I do like this team... A LOT
Fellas, given the fact that the football team is still very much in the running for the conference title, do ya think we can cool it in paying attention to the perpetually underachieving basketball team for, oh, at least the next month or so? Contemplating in, say, mid-Jaunary why John Brady still calls Baton Rouge his place of employment is bad enough; doing so prior to October 16 is downright depressing. :dis:
Yeah. We're not even done bashing Miles yet. Get it straight: 1. We hate Miles and bash him; 2 We hate Brady and bash him; 3. We hate Smoke and bash him. Everything in it's place. (Note: If Pokey fails to win the NC, throw her in there between Btady and Smoke).
My expectation each year is making the NCAA tourney. I expected that from Dale Brown, and I expect that from John Brady. It's not all that difficult these days since the SEC seems to be down as of late. Just finish in the top half of the league and you are in. Make the NCAA tourney enough times, and you'll make a run in the tourney sooner or later. Rankings are nice, but unimportant in basketball...
My expectations of LSU basketball is that I don't know what to expect. Its like Dr. Jekyll Mr.Hyde, sometimes they are good and others times they aren't as good, inconsistant. I do think we can talk about basketball if we can't beat the big 3 in football.
My expectations are to compete for the SEC Championship every year. John has the players and depth to compete so we should be competitive. It's not like we are Kentucky or North Carolina so we shouldn't expect to compete for the NCAA title every year. However, if Brady continues signing the best in Louisiana he may build a program that can compete with Kentucky and North Carolina. If Davis stays for his Junior year, with Mitchell, Gransbury, Rolle, and the player who transfered from Marquette, we may make a run in the NCAA Tournament.
I believe LSU basketball is beginning to turn the corner. Last year was the beginning, this year is still a part of it. We should be a good team in years to come.
