In your defensive scheme, who covers the 3rd inside receiver?

    That's funny.

One more...in your "silver package", the back is normally Keiland? Two TE, two WR's, one back....

Depends on what defense we're in and how many WRs you have. We use safeties in a nickel package, not CBs. You'll see McCray (#44) and/or Jones (#3) in quite a bit.

In a 3 WR set, the slot WR will likely be covered by a safety. If you use a 4 WR set, the inside guy sometimes gets picked up by a LBer, Beckwith (#48) or Highsmith (#7). Florida did this to us and we ended up trying to cover Harvin with a LBer a few times. That was a mismatch. Kentucky created a few mismatches, too.

Does Bama use a 4 WR set? How often?

Occasionally, but it all depends on down and distance. The reason for the question was the way we line up DJ Hall in our passing attack. The purpose is to make him that 3rd inside receiver. Using a safety or linebacker makes this an interesting match up. I can't see them covering him.

    thanks for the response.

We're switching to the wishbone for the Bama game. Les feels like he can really pound it out against your defense. Please don't tell Nicky.

I think they will have put a mirror on DJ Hall no matter where he lines up you will probably see C. Jackson covering him. At least that is what I would do. I would make one of the other receivers beat me. But I don't get paid the big bucks but when i was playing the game out on the PS3 that is what I did.

They didn't do that vs Florida...so I don't see them doing it when we play.
