Last night at the grocery store I happened to look down at the bottom shelf and spotted Iced Animal Cookies. I had no idea they still make those; I bet it's been 20 years or so since I've had any. Bought the bag and have almost finished the whole thing. It got me thinking back to my younger days, when lunch in the school cafeteria was two ice cream sandwiches with a Hershey bar for desert, washed down with a Mountain Dew in a glass bottle. :thumb: It got me to thinking about all my favorites from years gone by. Hard to narrow it down to a top five, but I guess my best effort would look like this:

    1. Hostess Chocolate Cup Cakes

    2. Hostess Twinkies

    3. Little Debbie Nutty Bars

    4. Iced Animal Cookies

    5. Triple Decker Moon Pie (Chocolate or banana)

OK, I said 5, but impossible.

    6. Pay Day candy bar

    7. Nutty Buddy ice cream cone

    8. Little Debbie Swiss cake rolls

    9. Oatmeal creme pies

    10. Fudge Rounds

You coulda rolled several of those up into Debbie Cakes, which rank very high on my list of acceptable junk. I was following along really nicely until I hit MoonPie. Those things have a shelf life of about 50 years. One of my favorites is stale Oreos. You know, you leave the package open until they go soft. That's when they are at their best.

I would agree with the above from your selection. The #1 is right on target in my opinion.

But, I gotta have chips added to the list. Cheetos and Nacho Doritos would be on mine. I still get those when I go to the store. But I haven't gotten the sweets - except for maybe a PayDay candy bar a couple of times a year - since I was a kid.

Does anyone remember Zero candy bars? I haven't seen those forever. Except for here.....

This is a web site I could spend a fortune with!

This was not a good subject for me right as I am getting ready to run errands and go to the grocery store!!!

okie, is that you behind the dog in your sig pic?

on a side not my dog can eat jack in the box, kfc, taco bell, chinese and whatever else i can throw at him all day long and he never gains a pound. he stopped eating dog food when he was 2... at the age of 7 he still runs and swims circles around other labs.. i think he'd be a smoker if he could hold a cig in his paw...
