Ok so the GF just bought a Mac for college and I'm kinda liking it. I was gonna buy a new laptop soon so Mac lovers (yes I'm talking to you fredrichs) convince me.
It's everything that a Mac is, which is an awful lot. It's a solid UNIX OS with the fabulous Mac Graphic Interface. And now, it is also the best PeeCee around, too, since you can load Windows on it as well, if that is what blows your hair back. You absolutely get what you pay for in laptop computers. The MacBook Pro is the best thing going. It ain't the hipness factor . . . it's a far better machine.
The MacBook Pro's 2K price tag is a little too rich for my blood. I would probably be looking at the regular MacBook.
I listened to Red and others, I have over 1700 PC desktops at our hospital and I use a Mac with bootcamp and fusion so I can get to my bootcamp partition while in Mac. Buy extra memory after you get the Mac, much cheaper. (plus it is much lighter and easier to fit in my backpack than the Dells and HP laptops)
because unless you are a gamer, it's one of the best windows machines available (built in camera, slot loading drive, great keyboard, remote control, magnetic power adapter, hatch-less magnetic lid) plus, your name is macatak. thats like a sign or something.
The biggest argument for a Mac is to use Vista - once. It is buggier than Arachnophobia. They are a good deal more than a Dell, but man, just save yourself the frustration and do it right. I still have both and I almost never use the pc.
I bought one a couple of weeks ago. We got the regular Macbook..not the pro. So far, so good. I would recommend it. As a matter of fact, we're switching completely over to apple products. They're so easy to work with.
