Helluva Final out West Georgia and LSU going at it toe-to-toe. Augustus is outasight again. Kendrick and Hardrick are hosses for GA. Wouldn't mind seeing either team in NOLA. I'd root for 'em both. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- laddie 1000+ posts 03/29/04 09:54 PM Re: Helluva Final out West [re: Super] Heck of a game - 14 sec. LSU 1 pt ahead -------------------------------------------------------------------------- laddie 1000+ posts 03/29/04 09:59 PM Re: Helluva Final out West [re: Super] 8.8 sec to go - LSU with a 1 pt lead - Agustus up for a one and one. Hits the first, timeout before the second, on the line for the second shot, misses the second , Georgia races down the floor, loses the ball, and LSU goes to the FF with a 2 point win for the first time ever! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Super 250+ posts 03/29/04 10:08 PM Re: Helluva Final out West [re: Super] Nice job, Pokey. Nice to see twoo well-coached teams slug it out like that. I feel bad for Andy Landers (40 tourney wins, 5 FFs and no title), but now LSU gets to play for the national tile practically at home! Can't wait to read the Boneyard when Augustus tears them up and UConn gets beat. I can hear it now: "How fair is it that LSU got to play the FF at HOME !? Waaaaah..." etc. etc.... GO LSU !! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- BabHorn 2500+ posts 03/29/04 10:23 PM Re: Helluva Final out West [re: Super] Great game. Georgia had as much of answer for Augustus as we did. That girl is awesome. Johnson was clutch on those late jumpers. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Statalyzer 5000+ posts 03/29/04 11:54 PM Re: Helluva Final out West [re: Super] Why did they not call the foul with 1.5 seconds left? It was like the refs all said "The game's over for sure, so let it go". Sure GA would probably have lost, but other teams in that situation have to make their FTs or else hope the opposition doesn't hit a halfcourt 3. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- True2Horns 100+ posts 03/30/04 11:10 AM Re: Helluva Final out West [re: laddie] I gained lots of respect for Andy Landers at the end of last night's game when he RAN to his player (Hardrick?) that fell down w/the ball to end the game. He picked her up and gave her a big hug as she was surely feeling pretty horrible. I hadn't really liked him much...until then. Have to say I was rooting for the Lady Dawgs but it was a really good game. Glad for Sue Gunter. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Surpisingly gracious. I was expecting nothing but whines about flukes and such. Good luck in the future, 'horns.
Our women's basketball fans are a little nicer than our men's basketball fans. Too bad we got crushed by you guys this year. I hope LSU goes on to win it all. I really don't want to see a UConn sweep of the titles.
I hope we can play your horns in baseball soon. I'd love to see our guys rock that nasty Hosuton Street. I hope to see you guys in the CWS.
I hope we see LSU in the CWS, as well. Its always nice to see the Texas and LSU fans fill up Omaha. Texas probably has the best team that I've seen since I've been alive at least. Right now we're 29-4 with a team ERA of 2.44.
It's amazing how the best baseball programs just keep doing it year after year, getting the best pitching especially as it can be real hard judging these kids against High School competition.
The way Minnesota was playing last night, I'll be surprised if they lose to UConn. Duke got just plain murdered.
