Can't believe USC got all that love. 57 first place votes... the vast overwhelming majority http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/football/usatpoll.htm
How is OSU still above Penn St., ECU, and USF? All of those teams are undefeated, and ECU and USF have actually beat some quality opponents.
The new AP Poll has the same thing: USC with 61 first place votes, the vast overwhelming majority. Oklahoma to #2 LSU to #6 Ohio State to #13 Interesting that Florida State is back in the top 25... in both polls. Undefeated Notre Dame got nothing (just 5 votes from the coaches and 4 votes from the sportswriters). Compare to Vanderbilt: 63 votes from the sportswriters, 20 from the coaches. As for Auburn, they are ranked #9/#10. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/rankingsindex
Everything is aligned for either the SEC or Big 12 Champ to play USC. Unless, of course, USC blows another game and two other teams remain undefeated. Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas, and possible even Nebraska, will fight it out. LSU, Florida, Georgia and others will fight it out for the SEC.
