I think we will still get Odoh and maybe the PG Collins. Last I heard Odoh was a done deal....no word on Collins.

We might not hear anything about Odoh until he actually enrolls here in the summer, Collins would be nice too, but no matter what happens we definetely got better by a lot with this class.

Probably not. I say that because at this point, we have one senior on the team. Ludwig. What you see now is what you'll see from now until the end of 2013 season. Where have we heard this before.... Remember when Trent talked about "saving" his schollies for kids that matter in each class? Staggering them out?

Let's just hold our collective breaths for a moment. Fans all over the web are singing CJJ's praises, and in fact, I think what they're really just reacting to is the fact that CJJ is "out more" and LSU is "out more" in the news. Is he seen at tournaments more, is LSU's name getting thrown around more? Yes. Have we signed any truly impact players? No. At least not yet. Recruiting despite all of the talk, with maybe the exception of a few coaches and schools, takes time.

So, I'll say again, Godfrey was a nice pick up. He was needed to keep folks down low completely off JOB's back. But, the jury's still out on a lot of this team. What CJJ is realizing out "on the circuit" is that no kid is going to just sign with LSU because CJJ is the coach at LSU. BUT, the ties of his staff, Forrest and Kirby, are getting LSU some looks from kids from TX or elsewhere. And, I guess that's all we can hope for.

The longer haul IS in that 2013 class. When you start to add up the possible prospects, 2013 starts to look like a real key class. 2 maybe 3, "must gets" in LA alone (I say again, Martin and D. Jones, I put in that Ricardo Gathers and beyond kind of tier... Bridgewater, I'm not sure is a must have). Perhaps even moreso because they are, unlike Gathers, Baton Rouge kids (Madison Prep and Scotlandville). Then, you've got several TX kids who Forrest and Jones have been recruiting for a while. K. Harris, J. Randle, etc. Are these kids going to take LSU seriously? You'd love to see them not only take unofficial visits (one of the big Dallas AAU teams supposedly were going to visit LSU on the way from a New Orleans AAU tournament) but official ones. Remember, Trent got some unofficials to come our way too. What we do know is with Derrick Taylor's son, and a couple of other Hammink boys, in 2013, LSU does have a lot of options. With more lead time to recruit, 2013 is CJJ's real test class. But, with Martin saying he's going to wait until next Spring, I'm not sure November is going to look too much different. Frankly, I'll be surprised if LSU has more than 1, maybe 2, early November signings. Our early signings over the past few years, have for the most part, been LA or MS signees. Who's that going to be when LSU wants two top 75 kids in Martin and Jones?

I just don't want us to make the same mistakes--i.e., saving schollies for commitments that never come. If a kid like Odoh will help us sooner, let's sign 'em. There's no guarantee that a kid like Martin will choose LSU next year, until he signs--and he has made it clear that he won't sign until late.

One thing that'll make kids notice LSU more is more fans in the stands...even when we're not winning.

I am hearing that Odoh will likely have to sit out a semester to get the credits he needs. Evidently, his grades are okay but he has not met all the class requirements so he will likely join the team in January. I still look for him to enroll this summer.

Pollard set to announce in the next few days and none of the big time recruiting services are even mentioning LSU but my source tells me that Kirby hopes to get Pollard in for a last minute visit and get him to sign. Might be a long shot but it's still a shot.

So, just as an update... LSU lost out on the Devonta Pollard sweepstakes yesterday. He chooses Alabama over Texas, Missouri, G-town and LSU (if we were in it).

Anthony Grant's otherwise lackluster recruiting in 2011-12 ends with a nice pick up, although, I think honestly for Pollard, he's going to regret this one. I have a feeling that this was ultimately a choice over distance (Tuscaloosa is close to his roots) and of how long and hard Grant's been on him. But, I have yet to see a kid that Grant's really developed for the pros. He works his players hard and they play good hard d, but his offensive coaching leaves a lot to be desired. Yes, that sounds a lot like Trent... but with CJJ and and a more upbeat offense, and good solid assistant coaches, I would have thought Pollard could have thrived more in CJJ's system. Nevertheless, it was a tough hill to climb in such a short amount of time for LSU recruiting him.

On to 2013! With the exception of maybe one more off the radar recruit over the summer, and I think it's safe to say that this is our team and we're looking on to good summer practices for the current players and a heck of a lot of recruiting for a big splash in 2013.

Good amount of work by CJJ and the new staff.

You are right, my friend. As I've always said, fans underestimate the value that they bring to atmosphere, recruiting etc. People want to cry about the coach or the team not winning, but let's be real, the attendance during Brady's 2006 FF run and Trent's SECC run, were well, to put it nicely apathetic.

Brown and other "insiders" wanted passion and a home-town boy to turn this around. I'm waiting to see what happens to attendance here. In the end, fans still put their $ where their mouth is, and let's first watch season ticket sales, and then see butts in seats.

All CJJ can do is implement a fun style to watch and coach his ass off with the kids he's got, and recruit even better kids to add to the mix. I'm still not convinced that just being a nice preacher in the pulpit is gonig to sell tickets. We'll see.

Not much info out there given he wasn't supposed to be eligible for this class. However, some scouts are saying he would have been a top 50 type prospect in next years class.
