    It's time.

Four quarters........no BS OT's this year.

It's time to take back the game that was stolen from us last year. Win this one in regulation! Leave no doubt about outcome! Take advantage of every single opportunity to score as many points in regulation as humanly possible leaving no openings for the refs to screw us. It's payback time people, and you know what they say about paybacks, right?....they are a bitch and the time is now!

Let's finish our regular season undefeated by putting a whooping on the team that has become one our top rivals. In my lifetime, the animosity began when we went in to Hempstead TX and signed one of their own, Mr. Harvey Williams. He was the #1 rated player that year, and they've had it out for us ever since. Simultaneously, we began the next few seasons playing home and away's as the first game of the year. However, the rivalry was stalled as both teams were muddled in coaching turnover. All of that has changed the past few years with their addition to the SEC, the coaching competition between the schools that heightened with Chavis a few years back, followed by the CLM game, Jimbo's hiring, and then Jimbo trying to snag Aranda. Finally, the 7 OT game last year, the fight after the game, and now our rise to the top of college football this year!!! All of this has fueled this rivalry to a fever pitch. It's time to water it down with a beat down to keep them in their place. Time for Jeaux to become the all-time leading passer in SEC history today and put a clamp down on the Heisman. Time for the Tigers to have a statement game and let the playoff committee know that we are the #1 team in the nation. Time to make a statement, and make that in 4 quarters leaving no doubt. The time is now!!! Let's Geaux!

    We comin'......today! It's time.

    From "llcoolrv" on Tigerdroppings:

" Mike the Tiger and Revellie Story

Here is a great story my dad told me that I always like to share with all the Tiger fans before we play A&M. This was in my dads words....
"Since the Tigers are playing the Aggies this week it reminded me of a funny thing that i witnessed in Tiger Stadium when I was a young boy. My Dad took me to the LSU/Aggie game in 1956 when Bear Bryant was still coaching the Aggies.
Prior to the game 2 of the Aggie yell leaders were around midfield with the Aggie dog mascot Reveille. They were having her show off in front of the Tiger fans. About that time Mike in his cage was brought onto the field and was stopped behind the south endzone. The Aggie yell leaders noticed this and took the leash off of Reveille and sicked him on Mike. Reveille took off in a full run toward Mike's cage. At about the 10 yard line Reveille must have got a whiff of Mike and tried to put on her brakes and slid end over end into the endzone. Reveille finally got to her feet, tucked her tail between her legs and took
off in a dead run north. The dog is probably still running away from Mike. The LSU fans went wild when they saw what was happening.

This is still one of my many great memories in Tiger Stadium.
My dad sent this story to Dandy Don wwbsite and Don emailed him back saying he remembered it also.
    Geaux Tigers. "

Any chance that gave way to the name for the school paper? Probably not, just a coincidence I’m sure.

Not to derail, but this reminded me of the greatest pregame stunt of all time.

Navy vs Air Force, Washington, DC, 1970. Rumors the President was going to attend. During warm ups this huge limo entered the stadium and the Navy band strikes up Ruffles and Flourishes. The limo drives around the field and stops in front of the Air Force section. The cadets all come to attention, and salute. After a couple seconds the limo doors spring open and out comes the Navy mascot, Bill the Goat, and the Navy cheerleaders. We won that one but Air Force crushed us in the game!
