yep, and what a bargain that is. if you are poor and go to,for example, baton rouge community college, and then graduate from LSU, you are good to go. especially if you major in petroleum engineering in which case you are rich.

and the truly elite schools are not concerned with money at all and will pay your way if you are smart. the harvards and yales of the world have literally tens of billions in the bank. and i am not making that up i think harcard literally has almost 40 Billion in the bank and loves to help a nigga out.

i eep seeing more stories about the "student debt crisis". its not a crisis! its the market trying to correct so that people major in real topics and attend legit schools that offer actual value for the education.

people with massive student debt are clowns if they complain. dont major in faggotry studies at elite expensive college of dullards!

i researched my claim about endowments. harvard is in fact nearly 40 billion. DAMN! they have kickass money managers investing in whatever, making obscene returns. this is true of most really great schools. they will ask you to pay something you can afford, even if that is nothing.

but if you are a dumb shitbag, and dont go to an elite school, just go to a state school. some of them are spectacular (michigan/UNC/cal/UT) and all of them are decent. even our dumbasses here at LSU and that crazy ass TOPS program. great value.

Or a national school:Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard Academy, not necessarily in that order. You get paid to go there and you have a job for at least five years, great benefits, and earlier retirement. What’s not to love?

You have to be pretty smart to get into any of those places? Don't you have to have a recomendation from a congressman?

I believe each congressman and senator has 2 nominations. However there are still a lot of places left and it’s very competitive.

    No.

Title 10 of the U.S. Code establishes two types of nominations: 1) congressional and 2) presidential/military service connected.

Congressional nominations include selections made by 1) the Vice-President, who nominate candidates from any part of the nation, 2) U.S. Senators, who nominate candidates from their entire state, and 3) U.S. Representatives, who nominate candidates that reside within their congressional district.

Because the nomination and appointment process is competitive, candidates should seek all the nominations for which they are eligible. Every candidate is eligible for the four congressional nominations –one from the Vice-President, 2 from Senators and 2 from local congressional reps. Presidential nominations are reserved for children of career military personnel.

Each Member of Congress is allowed five appointees at each academy. This means that in most years, Congressmen will be making nominations for one vacancy at each academy. For each vacancy, he is allowed to nominate ten candidates.
