I know some of y'all play guitar. No matter how long or short of time we've been playing we all want to get better.
Post anything you think might be useful or interesting.

Used to play a bit but had a seemingly minor surgery to remove a cyst on my right wrist. a couple of weeks later my right arm got swollen and had to get to the hospital right away. I'd contracted step b (a near certainty from the or / surgery) and nearly lost my right hand.

I 've given thought to trying to play right handed when I have more time

Played for many years, not particularly good as I don't play often enough to get much progress. Just got a knock off Tele which I love and some effects pedals which are quite fun.

I really like my knockoff strat. I don't have any pedals yet and I just have a 10 amp Fender Frontman amp. It's OK for practicing at home but I saw a 20 amp Fender at Guitar Center that has some pedal like effects. Just $99 and if I buy it from Musicians Friend site I won't have to pay sales tax and shipping is free.

Free shipping certainly helps with amps. Pedals can help you achieve those tones you hear on record.

sounds like the amp i have.
you can download the tones you want. just search the song, and you have a few choices to download.

my only complaint is that all of the tones are user created and there is no way to “preview” them.

so you have to download and use it to see if it’s right.
if not, try one of the other options.

Here's a tutorial that my brother did about 6 years ago for James Taylor's Country Road

Cool thx. Used to pl ay this long time ago. Came out nice on my 12 string. Everything did on that sweet old girl. Early 60s Yamaha when they got really serious and putting together the best materials and making excellent instruments at terrific prices.

How would you download tones? Is the amp connected to the internet? The one I was talking about just had a few extra knobs for effects and one of different voicings.

there is a wire that connects from the amp to a usb port on a computer.

first you download the software for the ampnto your computer.
    then you download the tones.
i have the website saved somewhere.
    download it to the computer.

your computer screen then has all the controls, pedals, effects, etc.

you can even change the “type” of amp.
for example you can play on a ‘65 Fender Reverb
and the software changes the sound of your amp to mimic that one instead.
