Get used to it. QB'S, RB's corners, WRs get paid more on the average than linemen. If you're a lineman get as good as Sam Donald or Kalil Mack and you will get paid.

Because all athletes and all sports are not equal.
So far the discussion has been solely about football but the scenario you just mentioned would most likely impact athletes who are in equivalency sports and have had to supplement either part or all of their tuition via academic merit aid or financial aid via loans. If they get hurt, they are screwed. Add on that the majority of college athletes are black, many from low-income families, and you have another pool of people with debt they may not be able to pay.

That petty bullshit goes on at the pop warner level and never stops. Jealousy is dumb. Not everyone can or wants to be the QB. Not everyone has burner speed to be a RB or WR. Most team sports have a position that gets the most attention and that's just life. Pitchers get the attention in baseball more than catchers. Oh well.

For the love of God, this HAS to be shot down and not become a thing.

Like I said, fucking California wasn't content with being the most fucked up state in the country, it just had to go and ruin one of the absolute best things the rest of us could still enjoy. Fuck you California!

Lets not F around here LSU and other SEC teams been making strong ass offers to recruits under the table for eons. Now it will be more legal. The pac12 will be relevant again unless everyone else adapts. It will be interesting to see how this alters HS sports. Other than 5* players, is this really going to change much? Pay the the best and win. Crab legs and beer won’t cut it anymore, they need cash to support their families. NCAA beats the crap out of their players why shouldn't they get paid instead of some of that BS they teach in school. I would like to see it blow up the NFL and make CFB stronger like it was before the NFL.

The whole thing people are missing about the new law is that only a very few high profile superstars are going to benefit from it, and only as long as they continue to produce at a high level. I can't oppose the law because I believe that everybody should have the right to benefit from their own likeness if it has any value to anybody willing to pay for it. I would favor some way of paying everybody something if it's not too outrageous but the big problem with that is Title IX. If you pay all the football, basketball and baseball players then you have to pay the fat girl who sits on the bench at one of tiga's softball games the same amount.

Here is one way it might workand circumvent Title IX. I am not a lawyer so the legal details would have to be worked out. The school or an appoved agency of the school could sell sponsorships for the whole team. Like in "Popeyes, the Official Fried Chicken of the LSU Fighting Tiger Football Team" or "Boudreaux's - Tiger Basketball's Bouncing Buttpaste. The Slam Dunk Solution to Diaper Rash."

Money generated from these sponsors would go to the players of those sports who are able to sell sponsorships. This should be legal because nobody is preventing the women's golf team from selling a sponsorship to Titleist or Ernie's Driving Range or anybody else. (except Titleist and Ernie)

Big time stars would still be free to sign their own deals with Nike or Budweiser or anybody else and keep all of that money but as members of the team they would be required to participate in any team specific advertising with their teammates.
