This is one of the more intriguing openings this season. How much time is spent on defending the GSU attack? Or, is more of the focus in fall camp on Texas?

When I see Georgia Southern and the number 40 I'm more inclined to think that's 40 minutes of possession by GSU or the total. It's certainly not something I see as the MOV. LSU giving 26 is something I've been questioning.

(FWIW, I just looked at Odds Sharks power rankings and that would lead to a spread that doesn't resemble LSU -40 or LSU -26.)

My only prediction is that whatever our final number of wins Ensminger will get blamed for any loss even if we lose by 1 point in a 74 to 73 final score. I won't predict the season till I see the first 2 games. Why you ask? Cause I want to see what the NEW offense looks like with yet another WONDER BOY like Canada was supposed to be that being Brady the Bodacious. We won 10 games last year with E at the helm now enter Brady who a number of people here are saying HE will be our savior on offense. If we win 11 or more games and score a lot of points doing it I will give both E and Wonder Boy credit along with O for hiring Brady. Of course Aranda whom I like will get no blame what so ever for any losses.

My prediction will come at the beginning of the second half of the Texas game.

There is only one of three circumstances where that would not be premature. An 0-2 start.
2-0 or 1-1 still won't define what LSU is or will be. The circumstances are too unique.

A decisive 2-0 start meaning we are in control of the game winning by enough points where we get to play 2nd and even 3rd teamers is what I am hoping for. A shaky 2-0 start or even a 1-1 will still make my prediction based on what I see. I was wrong last year. I predicted 8-4 at best. However we lose Burrow to injury early in the year all bets are off.

So let me see if I have this right.

Coach O says he wants to run more of a spread type offense and Ensminger himself says "great, find someone that can do it"

And we are to believe what now?

I'm going with 10-2. We'll lose to Bama and at least one other game, just going with strength of schedule. Not going to predict a bowl win or loss against an unknown opponent. Nor will I ever predict a win over Alabama again, until our poor offensive line recruiting and no-longer-superior strength/conditioning program are upgraded.

What I believe is O trust E and E will do what's best for the team cause I think he a stand up guy who is ALL LSU. If hiring Brady to help than so be it. BTW Saban brings in help from everywhere every year like Sarkisian and others and I am all for it. My problem is a lot of you underestimate what E has and will do.

I understand that. And, that still doesn't define whether a Texas win is of the same caliber as what the Miami win last year meant. And Georgia Southern?

I think they lost 7 starters from the defense so I'd agree, not sure what that will tell us
